CLEAR LAKE | More than 10 bands will entertain during RAGBRAI's overnight stop in Clear Lake July 25, themed "One Love, One Lake."
The Wailers, Cowboy Mouth and Irie Sol will perform at the Bandshell from 6:45 to 11 p.m.
The Wailers Band helped elevate Bob Marley to be the first "Third-World Superstar," bringing reggae of their native Jamaica to audiences on every continent.
Cowboy Mouth will dish up a unique style of rock 'n roll gumbo, with sound rooted in rock, punk, blues and the attitude of their native New Orleans, La.
Irie Sol’s music fuses genres indigenous to his native Jamaica — reggae, dance hall, ska and dub — with traditional American music forms of hip hop, funk, soul, rock and jazz.
Two additional stages near the downtown are also planned, with live music beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing throughout the day.
The Beach Stage will feature everything from steel drums and reggae bands to Surf guitar, rock and country cover bands.
Another more intimate venue, located on Main Avenue, will feature several acoustic artists.
The entertainment is made possible through donations from area businesses, organizations, individuals and foundations.
People who are interested in donating should contact Diane Thompson at 641-529-0519 or email@example.com.
