CLEAR LAKE | A group of Clear Lake High School freshmen is organizing a rummage sale to benefit the area hardest hit by Hurricane Harvey.

The group is asking for North Iowans to donate rummage sale items. They can be dropped off in a collection box at Southbridge Mall, near the main entrance by Book World. The items can be small or large but should be clean, organized and in sellable condition.

The sale and silent auction is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30 and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1 at the mall.

All proceeds will be donated to the Houston Food Bank, which serves 18 counties and manages 600 food pantries, senior centers and soup kitchens in southeast Texas. Any leftover items will be donated to local community need organizations.

Volunteers are needed Friday evening before the sale, as well as throughout the day Saturday and Sunday.
