Dairy Queen at 1006 N. 20th St. in Clear Lake has closed. The restaurant's last day was Sept. 10.

CLEAR LAKE | The Dairy Queen in Clear Lake has closed its doors.

The restaurant’s last day was Sunday, Sept. 10, according to signs posted at 1006 N. 20th St.

“We want to thank you for your years of loyalty,” the sign said. “We truly appreciate it.”

The sign continues by inviting patrons to visit “Hannah and her team in Mason City to say Hi and grab a blizzard.”

Representatives at Fourteen Foods, who own the Clear Lake and Mason City locations, could not be reached for comment Thursday, and messages left by the Globe Gazette with the company went unreturned last week. However, the Clear Lake location is no longer listed on the Fourteen Foods website.

Fourteen Foods is a multi-unit owner and operator of more than 200 DQ Grill & Chill restaurants and Dairy Queen Braziers in nearly a dozen states, including Iowa, the company's website states.
