CLEAR LAKE | The Opportunity Village Children's Autism Center will hold a free seminar from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, for parents and caregivers for children with autism and related disorders.
Alyson Beytien, the author of "Autism Everyday," will speak during the seminar titled, "What do I do tomorrow? Five Keys to Supporting a Child with Autism."
It will focus on what everyone can do to ensure the success of a child and all involved. The presentation will contain humor, reality and practical ideas.
Beytien is a parent/teacher trainer and mother of three sons with autism. She is a consultant/trainer throughout the U.S. and Canada on educating and supporting individuals with autism. She also is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and has a masters degree in education specializing in autism spectrum disorders from the University of Kansas.
Beytien is the behavior specialist for the Mercy Autism Center in Dubuque, where she is involved in assessment, intervention and training.
The presentation will be in the Opportunity Village Kinney Lindstrom Center, Clear Lake, and is open to anyone.
