DES MOINES | Wholesale ethanol prices fell $1.24 this week, closing at $2.28. Ten-percent ethanol blend closed at $3.49 per gallon, up 3 cents from last week’s price and up 5 cents from one year ago, according to a report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship.

As of April 8, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.59 across Iowa, according to AAA, up 3 cents from last week and 5 cents from one year ago. The national average was $3.60, up 4 cents from last week.

Retail diesel fuel prices fell a penny to a statewide average of $3.81, down from $3.89 a year ago and 15 cents lower than the $3.96 national average.

Natural gas was up 25 cents from last week’s report, ending the week at $4.53/MMbtu.
