DES MOINES | The price of regular unleaded gasoline climbed three cents to a statewide average of $2.48 a gallon, according to AAA.
That’s down $1.07 from one year ago. The national average was $2.45, the same as the previous week.
The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate by $3.38 per barrel over last week to $48.30. Brent crude oil fell $2.86 to $57.70. A year ago, WTI crude was $100.03 and Brent $108.35.
Retail diesel fuel prices increased a penny to a statewide average of $2.81 but down from $3.85 a year ago. That’s 11 cents per gallon less than the national average of $2.92.
Wholesale ethanol prices held steady at $1.47 with 10 percent ethanol at $2.45 per gallon, up two cents from the previous week, but down $1 from a year ago.
Propane prices decreased four cents to a statewide average of $1.47 per gallon. Home heating oil fell 10 cents to $2.30. Natural gas fell 20 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and ended the week at $2.73/MMbtu.
