DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Iowa will host the National Junior High Finals Rodeo and the 10,000 people it's expected to draw.

Officials say the National High School Rodeo Association will bring the finals to the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines in 2014 and 2015. It will be the first time it will be outside of Red Rock Park in Gallup, N.M., where it's been since 2005

Des Moines tourism officials say the organization based its decision, in part, on the opportunity to compete in a climate-controlled indoor arena for the first time. The arena was completed in 2010.

The junior high final features 900 of the best riders and ropers from around the world competing in events from barrel racing to bull riding.
