ONAWA | The Monona County Sheriff's Office arrested more than a dozen people in a drug bust this week that involved agents with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

On Wednesday, multiple agencies served eight search warrants on residences in Onawa and Whiting. During the execution of the warrants, methamphetamines, marijuana, guns and drug paraphernalia was found.

A press release said along with the search warrants there were nine arrest warrants issued in connection with the investigation. Currently, the sheriff’s office and other agencies are looking for others named in those arrest warrants.

Sheriff Jeffrey Pratt said Thursday 16 people have been charged so far in Wednesday's bust and he expects more arrests as the investigation continues.

"We are pretty tired," Pratt told the Journal. "It's a lot of hard work by a pretty good office. We are relieved it is over with at this point, and moving on to the next project."

Mark Morgan Sr., 55, of Onawa, has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled substance near a school, possession of meth, failure to affix a drug tax stamp and possession of firearms by a felon. His bond was set at $30,000.

Mark Morgan Jr., 27, of Onawa, faces possession of drug paraphernalia and gathering where illegal drugs are consumed. His bond has been set at $5,000.

Lindsey Hedberg, 32, of Blencoe, was arrested for possession of meth, possession with the intent to deliver, possession within a city park and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held in lieu of a $11,000 bond.

Lucas Mathes, 32, of Onawa, faces possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond is $1,000.

Felisha Usher, 25, of Onawa, has been charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond is $2,000.

Jason Yanak, 35, of Onawa, has a $300 bond for a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Monte Bromander, 56, of Whiting, has been charged for possession of meth and has a $10,000 bond.

Jeffrey Simpson, 34, of Whiting, was booked for possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and has a bond of $ 5,000.

Tyler Francis, 19, of Whiting, was charged with failure to register as a sex offender and for gathering where illegal drugs are consumed. His bond is at $3.000.

Tyler Slemp, 18, of Hornick, was arrested for possession of meth, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and gathering where illegal drugs are consumed. His bond is $3,000.

Zachary Koster, 21, of Whiting, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and gathering where illegal drugs are consumed. Bond is at $1,000.

Bo Wood, 21, of Whiting, faces possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond is $5,000.

Amelia Richardson, 32, of Onawa, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver meth. Bond is $5,000.

Austin Struble, 20, of Onawa, faces possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, failure to affix a tax stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond is $10,000.

Ashtyn Dicks, 26, of Whiting, was booked for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver. Bond is $5,000.

Jed Carpenter, 23, of Onawa, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Bond is $10,000.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by Onawa Police, Mapleton Police, Whiting Police, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Iowa State Patrol, DEA Task Force, Department of Corrections and ATF.
