The St. Ansgar wrestling team had two wrestlers move on to a Class 1A district tournament with a pair of good showings in Saturday's sectional tournament at Lake Mills.

Devan Hackenmiller was the first Saint to punch his ticket to the next round after he finished second in the 132-pound bracket. Hackenmiller was pinned by Denver's Gabriel Lewis in the title match, but no wrestleback was needed as Hackenmiller already had a win over North Butler-Clarksville's Teryn Joebgen.

In the 182-pound bracket, Dayton Hanson kept his season alive as he took second place. Hanson took an injury default in the title match, but he didn't need a wrestleback with a win over Northwood-Kensett's Gavin Varner in his pocket.

Also for the Saints, Derek Peterson was third at 106 pounds, Jaden Hutchinson finished fourth at 113 and Sage Hulshizer was fourth at 152.

This coming Saturday's district tournament will be held at noon at Luther College in Decorah.
