The St. Ansgar girls basketball team took a 5-5 record into winter break.

The Saints finished the first half of their schedule with a 49-39 loss at Hampton-Dumont on Thursday, Dec. 21. Elizabeth Jenkins led the team with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Hali Anderson, a freshman, followed with 15 points and 9 rebounds.

Jenkins, a senior, averaged 14.4 points per game, best on the team. She's also recorded 103 rebounds and 62 blocked shots.

Two other Saints, Anderson and Jadyn Anderson, average double figures with 11.6 and 12 points per game, respectively. Anderson has been credited with 37 assists.

St. Ansgar traveled to Northwood-Kensett on Tuesday, Jan. 2. On Friday, Jan. 5, they return home to host Newman Catholic.
