St. Ansgar dropped two close contests this week to Osage and North Butler.
On Tuesday, the Saints lost to the Green Devils 65-62. St. Ansgar was down at halftime 34-28 and the rest was a shootout. Osage would tie the Saints for 16 points scored in the third quarter and the Saints tried to climb back with an 18-point effort in the fourth, but ultimately came up short.
Junior Jaydn Anderson led the Saints with a double-double performance, going 7-for-19 for 19 points and grabbing 11 total rebounds, eight of them on defense. Senior Elizabeth Jenkins also displayed impressive numbers with 15 points and 10 blocks.
Freshman Hali Anderson was the third to score in the double-digits with 12 points, making the lone 3-pointer for the Saints. Anderson was also a key player on defense with a team-high of four steals.
In Friday’s 36-31 loss to North Butler, Jenkins emerged as the top-performer with 15 points, including one three-pointer and seven total rebounds. Defensively, Hali once again racked up the turnovers with six steals. Jadyn was the next top-scorer with six points.
The Saints will take on Charles City on Saturday, December 9.
