St. Ansgar defeated Rockford at home on Tuesday, Dec. 19.

The Saints kept it close in the first quarter, holding an 9-8 lead over Rockford, but then pulled away after a 17-5 second quarter to take a 26-13 lead at half. They would outscore the Warriors 19-12 in the second half to tally the final score 45-25.

Freshman Hali Anderson led the team as the only scorer in double-digits going 9-for-13 from the field and 1-for-3 from the perimeter. She also added eight total rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Senior Elizabeth Jenkins racked up a team-high of nine total rebounds and 10 blocks. She went 4-for-7 from the field for eight points.

The Saints traveled to Hampton-Dumont on Thursday, Dec. 21, but scores weren’t available at press time.
