Riceville went 1-2 on the week with games against Janesville, Waterloo Christian and Turkey Valley.

After a 61-10 defeat on Tuesday, Jan. 23, the Wildcats rallied back with a 49-35 victory over Waterloo Christian.

The Wildcats led Waterloo at halftime, 23-15 and would go on a 21-4 run in the third to make it a 44-19 score. Waterloo Christian put forth a 16-point effort in the fourth, but could not overcome the deficit, 49-35.

Senior Sarah Harken led the effort shooting 10-for-19 from the field, adding 13 total rebounds and six steals. Freshman Brynn Hemann added a 13-point effort.

In the 59-39 loss to Turkey Valley, Hemann and freshman Josie Gansen each put up 10 points. Harken added a 9-point effort and led the team with 11 total rebounds.

Riceville faced Northwood-Kensett on Monday, but scores weren’t available at press time.
