OSAGE | On Sunday, Nov, 12, the Osage High School football team hosted its annual postseason awards ceremony at in the auditorium of the Krapek Family Fine Arts Auditorium, Cedar River Complex.

Awards presented included team awards, outstanding achievement awards, class awards and all-district awards.

The following student athletes took home honors for the team awards: Senior - Michael Uthe (Relentless Effort Award), Senior - Tyler Jensen (Most Improved Defensive Player), Senior - Jayden Hanson (Most Improved Offensive Player), Senior - Hunter Wagner (Leadership Award and Coaches' Award) and Junior - Dalton Wright (Ross Grafft Character Award).

The awards ceremony also honored two young men who etched their names into the Osage Football record book with significant milestones. Senior Lucas Schwamman was honored for tying the school's all-time career touchdown reception mark with 13 TD receptions, previously set by Ryan Ketelsen (2006).

Drew Olson was honored for summiting the following stat categories in the record book: career completions – 307, career passing yards – 4,352, career touchdown passes – 46, passing yards per game – 161.2, 100-yard passing games – 21, total offensive yards in a career – 4,590, total offensive yards in a game – 416, touchdown passes in a game – 5 (achieving twice), and passing yards in a game – 360.

Each of these athletes were awarded the "Strongest Pound-for-Pound" award for their class: Thurston Taets (SR), Hayden Meek (JR), Thor Maakestad (SO), Colin Muller (FR). Hayden Meek was also awarded with the "Osage Football Elite Athlete Award" which is awarded to the individual who scores the best on pre-season camp training assessments.

Those players earning all-district honors included: 1st Team - Gage Belz (OLB) – SO, Drew Olson (UTIL) – SR, Hunter Wagner (UTIL) – SR, Lucas Schwamman (WR) – SR, Michael Uthe (DL) – SR and Dalton Wright (OL) – JR; Honorable Mention - Dylan Aschenbrenner – SR, Thurston Taets – SR, Hayden Meek – JR and Zach Williams – SO; All-District Academic - Hunter Wagner – SR, Noah Sletten – SO, Zach Williams – SO, Dalton Wright – JR, Thor Maakestad – SO, Brody Roll – JR and Brett Bobinet – JR.
