With two conference games and two outside the conference over the past week, the Osage baseball team walked to a 2-2 record with TIC East wins over North Butler and Nashua-Plainfield.
On Friday, Osage cruised past N-P 14-0 in five innings. The Green Devils plated three runs in the first, five in the second and six in the third.
Lucas Weigle had two hits and drove in three to pace Osage at the plate, Garrett Maakestad was 2 for 2 with two RBIs and two runs scored, and Hayden Meek, Noah Krabbe and Jacob Whilm had two hits and an RIB apiece.
Isaac Oberfell allowed five hits, struck out four and walked three in five innings to earn the win.
Osage used three runs in each the third and fourth innings last Wednesday to help it to its win over North Butler.
Starter Brett Bobinet pitched well for the Green Devils as he struck out 10, walked two and scattered seven hits over 5 2/3 innings.
At the plate, Nate Bushbaum, Meek and Weigle each doubled, Hunter Wagner drove in two runs, and Bushbaum, Maakestad and Bobinet had one RBI apiece.
The Green Devils were outmatched in a 21-2 loss in four innings vs. Charles City on Tuesday, June 20.
Gavin Schaeffer doubled and drove in both runs for the Green Devils, Meek had a double, and Maakestad and Weilge each singled.
On Monday, June 19, Osage lost 8-7 to Lake Mills in eight innings. The Green Devils scored two in the top of the seventh to tie the game and added one more in the eight before Lake Mills scored twice in the bottom of the frame to walk off with the win.
Bushbaum was 3 for 4 with three RBIs, Weilge had three hits, scored two runs and drove in one, Maakestad singled and doubled, and Krabbe, Bobinet and Whilm had one hit apiece.
