The Green Devils started off the week winning a close competition with the St. Ansgar Saints, 65-62.
Osage had a productive first quarter, scoring 21 points to take a 21-16 lead. At half, the Green Devils held a 34-28 lead. But the Saints would fight back, keeping the scoring even in the third and almost the same in the fourth, challenging the Green Devils until the final minutes.
Three seniors and one freshman scored in the double digits for the Green Devils. Gabby Schwarting led the team going 6-for-11 from the field, making four 3-pointers and one free throw for 17 points. She tied Brenna Jacobs with five total rebounds, the second most on the team.
Madi Johnson and Brenna Jacobs each had 13 points and Johnson tied sophomore Mia Knudsen for a team-high of eight total rebounds. Freshman Dani Johnson was the lone underclassmen in the double-digits with 10 points.
The team enjoyed a week off before playing North Butler on the road Tuesday, but scores weren’t available at press time.
