The Osage boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Top of Iowa Conference meet on Thursday.
The boys’ team took second overall, while the girls took third.
Junior Alex Swenson and sophomore Caleb Sledd finished back-to-back in 11th and 12th with times of 18:23.2 and 18:26.3 respectively. Taking the third spot for the Green Devils was sophomore Elijah Bluhm in 28th with a time of 19:11.0. Junior Joey Jacobs finished with a time of 19:51.8 and sophomore Nicolas Shoars finished with a time of 20:25.7.
Senior Madi Johnson led the girls’ team, taking 10th place overall with a time of 22:18. Senior Brooke Scharper came in at No. 20 with a time of 22:46, sophomore Makayla Mostek was close behind in 23rd with a time of 22:55.
Finishing up the Green Devils’ top five was sophomore Clare Huisman with a 23:48 and junior Macie Adams with a time of 24:09.
Top qualifiers will compete at the district meet on Thursday in Eagle Grove.
