OSAGE | On Wednesday, Jan. 30, the CRC Drifters held their synchronized swim show following the CRC swim meet against Mason City.

The team performed to "We Got the Beat" by the Go-Go's. This was their first rock and roll song performed by Meg Schutjer, Jane Michels, Lisa Cockrum, Laura Wynohrad, Laurie Gisleson, Carrie Barker and Gayle Nelson.

"We have been practicing since October in preparation of this performance," Nelson said. "We practice early mornings and late evenings for one to two hours, which is always a good time. If we don't laugh, then the practice hasn't been completed."

Nelson said a goal, of the team, would be to have underwater speakers, so team members could hear the music under water and keep them synchronized, "as it is harder than it looks," she said.

This was their first performance, where the team stayed completely in the deep end and had three stunters in the air.

"We encourage anyone who is comfortable in the water to come give it a try with us," Nelson said.
