Health care organizations across the country are experiencing nursing shortages and Mitchell County Regional Health Center in no different. MCRHC is working hard to reach nurses in our region to let them know how great it is to be a part of the MCRHC team.

After a recent meeting with key clinical staff, it has been apparent that there are trends in what our staff say about why they love to work at MCRHC and why they would recommend employment to friends, family or even new acquaintances. The trends are a strong teamwork-focused environment and feeling like they are a part of a family at work. They also feel they are invested in the work they do and want to be part of the MCRHC team for the long-term while using a wide variety of skills in their work. Most importantly, everyone felt at MCRHC they are able to put the patient first, allowing them to provide excellent quality of care for patients, who are often times our friends, neighbors and family.

Several of our nurses, both in the clinic and in the hospital will soon be sharing their personal stories about why they are committed to working at MCRHC. I hope these personal messages will encourage fellow nurses looking for a new opportunity to reach out and apply for a variety of nursing opportunities available at MCRHC. To check out our current career openings, go to and watch the Mitchell County Facebook Page for a message from a nurse you might know in our community telling her MCRHC story.
