A big thank you to community members and Osage alumni who responded so generously to the Osage Education Foundation’s need for additional funding for the summer band program.

I am pleased to announce numerous gifts totaling $3,005 and earmarked for the summer band program for Osage fifth graders have been received.

This has been a truly heartwarming response to the Whitcomb family’s challenge.

A huge thank you also goes out to the Whitcomb family, who matched the donors’ generosity for a total of $6,010. The challenge has far exceeded this year’s shortfall of $1,866 and all funds from this challenge will be used for future years of instruction until interest rates return to normal levels.

This response shows how much we care about the education of our Osage students.

I will thoroughly enjoy reporting to the audience at the Foundation’s Distinguished Alumni event on June 17, the summer band program is alive and well.

On behalf of the late Don and Virginia Whitcomb, their daughters, the band kids and the Osage Education Foundation, I offer a sincere thank you again. We hope to see many of you at our June 17 event.
