What is this weekend? Autumn Artistry.
It seems like fall has already been here a couple of days, despite what the calendar says.. The month has been rather cool which made for a much easier to start to return to school in late August.
However, I have been told September and even October could be much warmer than August. It will be interesting to see if that prediction comes true.
Regardless, with Autumn Artistry happening, it’s now the official start of fall.
This Saturday, downtown Osage, along with the Mitchell County Fairgrounds, will be full of vendors, food and lots of fun.
To help you get around, there will be wagon rides between the downtown and fairgrounds.
The past couple of weeks, we have featured vendors who will be selling items. From what I understand, this year will feature another large number of vendors for this year's 17th Autumn Artistry in Osage.
Several of the vendors are new but some have been here for almost the entire 17 years. We are featuring several vendors in this week's Press-News.
Regardless of how many times they have been here, you won’t be able to leave without purchasing something fun.
Next week is Farm Safety Week.
Although harvest isn’t completely in full-swing, it soon will be.
When it does, we need to be vigilant and stay safe while working on the farm and while traveling on the roads.
We need to be especially alert when traveling down the country roads, especially those that are extra dusty.
All children need to be aware of how to respect the large equipment being used on farms today. We see too many farm accidents involving small children.
Don’t forget there is plenty of football, volleyball and cross country action taking place across our county. We need to continue to support our athletes throughout their entire season.
