Catherine B. Klink

New Haven - Catherine B. Klink, age 98, of Osage, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at the Faith Home in Osage.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at Sacred Heart Parish Hall in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in New Haven. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Parish Hall.
Catherine was born July 2, 1919, in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Henry and Gertrude (Helfter) Carroll. She attended country school. Catherine graduated from St. Mary's in New Haven in 1935, and from Mount Mercy Business School in 1937. Prior to her marriage, Catherine worked for a light company in Cedar Rapids. She married David Klink on June 12, 1941, in Cedar Rapids to this union two children were born, Alan and Carol. They made their home in Marion and then moved to Omaha, Nebraska, once their children were attending college. Catherine was a member of the Catholic church. She received the Monsignor McCaslin Award “Shoulders of Giants” in 1997 for over 25 years of volunteer work in Omaha, Nebraska, nursing homes. She enjoyed music, reading, needlework, and played organ for enjoyment and for church services in Omaha and at the Faith Home in Osage.
Catherine is survived by her son, Alan (Jean) Klink of Surprise, Arizona; her daughter, Carol (Steve) Adamowicz of St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada; two grandchildren, Sarah Adamowicz and Emily Adamowicz, both of Ontario, Canada; great-grandchildren, Evan and Aria Gregory; and a sister, Miriam Kirst of New Haven.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David in 1973; and a brother-in-law, Joe Kirst.
