OSAGE | Shop On State (SOS) in Osage, a local thrift shop mission for the county, will remain open.
The nonprofit organization is in the midst of forming a new board with the guidance and assistance of previous board members.
The shop has a new interim manager as well, Mrs. Carol Anderson, of Osage. Anderson will lead the staff in operation of the thrift shop until the new board hires a permanent manager.
An announcement will be made regarding application to the manager position at a later date. The public is asked to refrain from sending in their applications and resumes until the qualifications have been determined by the board.
At the present time, hours open to the public for shopping remain from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month.
Donations to the thrift store are accepted up to an hour before closing.
The public is asked to donate their gently used items that are clean, in a condition acceptable for resale, in working order, and only during the hours listed.
Items "dumped" outside while the store is closed may be stolen or damaged by vandalism or inclement weather. Damaged items cannot be resold.
Those who are interested in serving SOS in any capacity can fill out a volunteer interest survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YKNFQ3J. A paper copy of this survey is available at SOS.
