OSAGE | With Christmas Carols playing in the background, the atmosphere in Thymeless 2, on Main Street, in downtown Osage, is warm, friendly and inviting.

For 14 years, the Koster’s have operated Thymeless Treasures, in St. Ansgar, a shop specializing in gifts and home décor, along with a wide variety of Iowa chocolates and wines. Now, they have opened a second location in Osage, just in time for the holidays.

“We decided to expand,” said Jean Koster. “We were going to come to Osage for Autumn Artistry and set up a booth, but a friend had this space open and available, and when we saw it, we fell in love with it and decided to try it permanently."

In wanting to keep the focus and identity of the two stores separate, the Kosters have plans to keep Thymeless 2 filled with décor with a more farm or industrial theme while the St. Ansgar location remains more modern. Their focus in both stores is on gifts and home décor, seasonal pillows, throws, candles, home fragrances, lanterns, lamps, gift items like purses, charm bracelets, and scarves, signs and mirrors.

“Our charm bracelets have been a popular item,” said Koster, of the rack of bracelets and charms. Patrons can build their own unique bracelets from a variety of bands, birthstones, and charms that represent their likes and interests.

“Our goal is to try to not have the same things in both stores, so people can still enjoy going to both,” Koster said. “We will have some Sundays open for the holiday season, but for the most part, we will be open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at this location. We can be found on Facebook as well.”
