OSAGE | Five students from the Osage Community High School Music Department were selected to participate in the Iowa All-State Music Festival. This is the highest individual honor attainable to Iowa high school musicians.
The 71st Annual All-State Music Concert is 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, at Hilton Coliseum on the Iowa State University Campus. Tickets available from Ticketmaster. Iowa Public Television will record the concert for re-broadcast.
Selected for the All-State Chorus was Zach Duren, son of Marlin and Kelli Duren, Rafe Miller, son of Matt and Kelli Miller, Makayla Mostek, daughter of Jeremy and Katie Mostek, and Erica Nasstrom, daughter of Jeff and Angela Nasstrom.
Selected to the All-State Band was Emily Maliszewski, daughter of Mark and Julie Maliszewski. Alex Swenson, son of Steve and Jean Swenson was selected as first-alternate tuba.
In addition Chase Halbach, son of Chad and Judi Halbach, Katelyn Halbach, daughter of Gregg and Amy Halbach, and Macy Ott, daughter of Kelly and Ann Ott were recognized with a recall audition for the chorus.
Other students who auditioned vocally were Elijah Bluhm, Megan Breon, Hailey Gentz. Other instrumental students who auditioned were Ryan Adams, Nathan Berge, Melanie Bye, Makayla Eagen, Rhett Ham, Clarissa Huisman, Seth Phillips and Andrew Thyer.
