OSAGE | Making it into the All State Choir is the biggest accomplishment a choir student can make in his or her high school career.
For sophomore Erica Nasstrom, making it into the 2017 All State Choir as a Soprano 2 is just that.
“When All-State was approaching, my goal was to give it my all and to perform to the best of my ability," Nasstrom said. "Of course, I had high hopes of making the choir, but in the end, I just wanted to do the best I could do.”
Erica auditioned with another sophomore, Rafe Miller. Rafe is a two year all stater, making it this year as well.
After their first audition, Erica felt confident it went well. A few hours went by before she had received the news of a call back audition.
“When I received the news of a call back, I was very calm and collected. I went in with an open mind thinking the same thing: just to perform my best,” Nasstrom said.
When she saw her name on the accepted Soprano, list she burst into tears knowing that all her hard work paid off.
Erica said she couldn’t have done it without the help of Ms. Hoeppner and Mrs. Thorson.
She also wants to give a huge shout out to her “killer” partner Rafe Miller and her pitch giver Melanie Bye.
In her words, “You guys rock.”
