On Sunday, March 5, the Mason City High School Concert and Symphonic Bands will present a concert at 3 p.m. in the Mohawk Performance Hall in the FEMA Safe Room on the MCHS campus. Admission is free.
Sunday's concert is a celebration of the Mason City High School Instrumental Music Department's 90th year.
A bake sale will follow the concert, with proceeds going toward the Instrumental Music Boosters. Instrumental Music Department.
The Concert Band, directed by Mike McEniry, will perform "Festival Fanfare" (Gilbert); "Three English Folk Dances" (Curnow); Music from “Carmen” (Bizet/arr. Saucedo); John Williams in Concert (Williams/arr. Lavender), and "Galop" (Young).
The Symphonic Band, directed by Russ Kramer, will perform "The Earle of Oxford’s Marche" (Byrd/Jacob); "Vulcan" (Daugherty); "Houseplants in terracotta pots." (Magnuson); and "Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral" (Wagner/arr. Cailliet).
