The Mason City High School Vocal Music Department begins its 91st season with a concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at the North Iowa Community Auditorium.

The ensembles are conducted by Joel Everist and Sarah Bouska, with collaborative pianist Rachel Everist. Free admission.

Selections include “America the Beautiful” by the Chamber Choir; “Amani Utupe,” “Ye Banks and Braes,” “Climbin’ Up The Mountain,” and “Swingin’ With The Saints,” Mixed Chorus; “K’ Ayal Ta’arog,” “Three Madrigals,” “Requiem” (conducted by  Nathan Lange, student teacher from Wartburg College), and “Little David Play On Your Harp,” Varsity Choir; and “Hlohonolofatsa,” “The Best of Rooms,” “Wie lieblich sind deine Wohnungen,” ”Deep River” and “Nyon Nyon,” Concert Choir, and “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” combined choirs.

The CD “Flight Song” will be released at the concert.
