The sixth annual Home for the Holidays in downtown Mason City.

Kick off the season with Home for the Holidays, presented by Main Street Mason City on Saturday, Nov. 25.

From 3 to 5 p.m., enjoy Polar Express Trolley Rides every half hour from the Historic Park Inn. Children can write a letter to Santa and make reindeer food at 15 N. Federal Ave., decorate cookies in Southbridge Mall, or plates for Santa at 14 S. Federal Ave. There will be holiday craft time at the CENTer, 25 W. State St., and story time at Brick Furniture, featuring guest readers Amy Fleming, Joe Malone, Kellie Jensen and Sharon Steckman.

Children can enter to win a chance to light the tree in Central Park. The tree lighting ceremony is at 5:15 p.m., with hot chocolate at 5 p.m., and music by Una Vocis.

Jingle & Mingle, from 5:30-9 p.m., features specials at downtown establishments with the purchase of a souvenir shot glass necklace.
