Being One of many who work in Mason City and live in Clear lake, or vice versa, it was a great improvement when the old Highway 106 was widened and the turn lanes were added.
The issue that many people are talking about now is this: the lines that separate east and west traffic can hardly be seen. This is not safe at all!
If people drive on 106 early (at sun up) or evening hours (sun down), it is very hard to see the lines.
I have experienced driving on this highway in the rain, fog, daylight and night time, and my opinion is this is not safe at all!
I work with the public and I talk with people of all sorts. They agree; the lines are hard to see. The lines need to be repainted using reflective paint.
It seems there is always something being done on the bike path. Once again, not everyone rides bicycles, but most of the people drive cars or trucks.
Let's be safe and put reflective lines out there, please!
