Richard Leet

Richard Leet is a former director of the Charles H. MacNider Museum. 

Two paintings by Richard Leet of Mason City were chosen for the Iowa Watercolor Society's 40th annual juried art exhibition, which was held Aug. 1 to Sept. 30 at the LaPoste Building in Perry.

"Snow Showers in the Twilight" received an Honorable Mention award of $150, and both paintings were chosen for the IWS traveling exhibit, which is on view at the Warren Cultural Center in Greenfield through November. It will tour southeast Iowa through July of 2018.

Leet has painted and exhibited professionally since the late-1950s. His work has been featured in 67 one-man shows. He has also participated regionally and nationally in hundreds of competitive, invitational and group exhibits.

Leet has received numerous awards and his art is in many private and public collections. He has been included in "Who's Who in American Art since 1973.
