Iowa Crafts: 43 opens Friday, Nov. 3, in the Kinney-Lindstrom Gallery at the Charles H. MacNider Art Museum, Mason City.

An opening artists’ reception will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, with an awards ceremony at 2:30. The public is invited to attend and meet the artists.

The competition was open to Iowa residents above high school age. Categories were clay, fiber, metal/wood, jewelry, and other craft media.

Twenty-five artists entered 81 artworks, and 31 works by 19 artists were selected, ranging from long-time artists to students just starting their careers. The juror was JoAnn Schnabel, professor of art, University of Northern Iowa.

Iowa Crafts: 43 is on display through Saturday, Jan. 3. Admission is free. For information visit or call 641-421-3666.
