"Motown the Musical" comes to the North Iowa Community Auditorium on the NIACC campus, with performances at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 25-26. It is part of the 2017-2018 Performing Arts and Leadership Series for the 20th Anniversary Season.

"Motown" is the true story of Motown founder Berry Gordy’s journey from featherweight boxer to the heavyweight music mogul who launched the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye and more.

The hit Broadway musical, with music and lyrics from the legendary Motown catalog, tells the story behind the hits as the Motown family fights against odds to create the soundtrack of change in America.
