Harriman-Nielsen Fall Festival will be Sunday, Oct. 8, at the Harriman-Nielsen Historic Farm restoration site on the west edge of Hampton. Rain date is Oct. 15.
Activities from 2 to 5 p.m. include free concerts, wagon rides, contests for the biggest pumpkin and tallest corn stalk, and a cribbage tournament.
The Harriman-Nielsen home will be open to tour, and there will be a market with items from the farm’s garden.
From 2 to 4 p.m., 4-H clubs will have old fashioned carnival games, with Veggie 500 races at 3 and 4 p.m.
Try corn shelling and grinding, watch wool spinning, and enjoy popcorn made in a restored steam-powered popcorn popper.
Bring lawn chairs and listen the Yupitsa Polka Band and Two Juhls and a Gem.
Small fees are charged for the carnival, food, and garden produce. Proceeds go to restoration of the farm site. Parking is free.
