Clear Lake's popular Fourth of July celebration extended from June 29 to July 4 this year.
The city's premiere festival featured amusement rides, bingo, an open-air vendor market by the lake, carnival food, live music nightly in the bandshell at City Park, a traditional Independence Day parade down Main Avenue, and a fireworks display over the lake.
Fourth of July weekend pulls in a huge crowd, with the estimated tourism revenue well over $10 million for the weekend, according to Fourth of July Committee Chairwoman Alice Hanley. The event is put on by the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.
Featured bands included the classic rock group Crossfire, The Punching Pandas, tribute band Arch Allies and The Hepperly Band. Also popular was Family Fun Day, with the Family Feud Game Show and family games in the afternoon.
