FOREST CITY – Six Waldorf University student-athletes were honored as North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Champions of Character following the 2016 spring season, which was announced by the conference last Tuesday.

Each spring sports head coach nominated a recipient for the NSAA Champions of Character award. Through the Champions of Character program, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the NSAA, schools provide training for student-athletes and professional development for coaches and staff by emphasizing the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership. Each member institution selects a team member who best represents the five core values. Representing Waldorf’s spring teams on the NSAA Champions of Character Team are as follows:

Baseball: Trevor Bauer (Junior – Twentynine Palms, Calif.)

Men’s Golf: Rick Young (Senior – Garner, Iowa)

Women’s Golf: Maggie Peters (Junior – Jewell, Iowa)

Softball: Maggie Eden (Senior – Britt, Iowa)

Men’s Outdoor Track and Field: Isaiah Lufkin (Senior – Rosemount, Minn.)

Women’s Outdoor Track & Field: Erica Fee (Sophomore – Knoxville, Iowa)
