BRITT | The West Hancock boys' basketball team is looking for gradual improvement over the season.
"We lost a lot of seniors at the end of last year, but we should be better at the end of the year," said Chase Eisenman, one of the captains for the Eagles.
This season's team, which went 19-7 in 2016-17 and made it to the state tournament for the third year in a row, has just three seniors returning, including Eisenman and another captain, MaCoy Yeakel. Junior Gavin Becker is the third captain.
The Eagles have good communication with each other, according to Yeakel.
"We are all pretty close," he said.
Eisenman described the team as "young and talented," noting the players can get up and down the court.
"We shoot a lot of threes," Becker said.
However, they need to work on "rebounding since we aren't very big," he added.
Eisenman said he wants this year's West Hancock team to be remembered for "giving everything our best shot."
