FOREST CITY — For the second straight week, Forest City’s offense was unable to keep pace as it dropped a 42-7 loss vs. Spirit Lake.

Spirit Lake got out to a hot start with two first-quarter touchdowns before Forest City got itself on the scoreboard with a two-yard touchdown run by Jaxon Jones with 2:39 to play in the first quarter

After that, it was all Spirit Lake.

Spirit Lake scored two touchdown in the second quarter and added one more in the third quarter to go on to the 35-point win.

Forest City quarterback Luke Johnson finished the game 11 for 22 with 152 yards and an interception.

Sam Snyder had two catches for 58 yards, Jordan Spooner hauled in one pass for 37 yards, and Jacob Olson had four catches for 20 yards.

Jaden Alamysa led the Indians’ ground game with 33 yards on five carries. Forest City had 26 total yards on the ground.

Forest City (0-2) opens its district slate this week with a home game vs. New Hampton.
