CLEAR LAKE — It was a bitter end to a strong season for the Forest City volleyball team in its Class 3A regional final, but in the Indians’ loss in straight sets to Osage there was still a note of pride in coach Lacy Jerome’s voice afterward.
“I am proud of our girls for just the little wins that we had throughout the season and being 29-3 coming into tonight, just winning a couple tournaments on the weekends and doing good things,” Jerome said. “They have a lot to be proud of.”
Set scores were 25-16, 25-15, 25-16.
Forest City hung around early in the first set, but that was about the only momentum they had against a good Osage team.
Cora Holland led the Indians with five kills, Brea Dillavou had 15 assists, Hannah Anderson and Kaylee Miller four kills apiece and Emma Segerstrom added two kills.
“We’ve been here three out of the last four years, so it needs to be an expectation and they need to remember what it feels like and then want to win,” Jerome said. “We’re lucky, and we have a lot of girls coming back.”
