The Forest City wrestling team watched as its season came to an end in Saturday's Class 2A sectional tournament at Clear Lake. The Indians took fourth in the team race and had no individuals advance to the district tournament.
That's not saying the Indians didn't have a decent day on the mat, though.
The Indians had five wrestlers bring home third-place finishes, and two of the five had a chance in wrestlebacks.
Kristian Gunderson fell short in his wrestleback at 145 pounds as he was handed a 6-2 loss by decision vs. Osage's Spencer Mooberry. In a wrestleback at 182 pounds, Tim Buck watched his chances of advancing fall short in a 13-5 loss by major decision to Clear Lake's Dalton Mennenga.
Kaleb Umbaugh took third at 120, Will Kirschbaum was third at 126, and Austin Kelso finished third at 220 pounds. All three did not qualify for a wrestleback.
Also for the Indians, Brock Moore (106), Wyatt Gelhaus (113) and Evan Larson (285) each took fourth, and Brett Walton (132), Dylan Jenkins (160) and Jacob Trunkhill (170) were each fifth.
