Forest City wrapped up its week with a solid showing in a home tournament on Saturday in which it finished 3-1. The one loss, however, was the Indians’ first of the season.

Forest City beat Clarion-Goldfield-Dows in straight sets, 21-16, 21-8, took care of Spencer in two sets, 21-12, 21-13, survived in three sets vs. Boone, 16-21, 21-14, 15-9.

The Indians’ lone defeat of the day came in a 21-17, 21-10 loss to Roland-Story.

“Our first match went well (vs. CGD),” Forest City coach Lacy Jerome said. “We lost to them first round last year so it was nice to come out strong against them.

“We struggled against Roland-Story. We did not play well, did not play good defense, did not do well offensively and the last two matches (Spencer and Boone) were pretty strong for us.”

On Tuesday, Sept. 12, the Indians cruised to a win in straight sets over West Hancock, 25-9, 25-2, 25-20.

In the win, Hannah Anderson was 30-for-31 serving with a match-high 13 aces. Anderson also added a team-best 10 kills.

Brea Dillavou dished out 23 assists, had five digs and four kills, Cora Holland had five kills, five digs and two ace serves, and Kaylee Miller added five kills of her own. Additionally, Kelsey Koch and Emma Segerstrom recorded four kills apiece.
