It was a tough season in many ways for the Forest City football team, and it came to an end last Friday as the Indians fell short of Crestwood in their season final, 26-20.

Forest City jumped out to a 7-0 lead after a quarter when Luke Johnson hit Blaze Andersen on a seven-yard touchdown pass.

Crestwood answered back in the second quarter with a touchdown of its own by Shane Vokaty to send the game into halftime tied 7-7.

After a one-yard touchdown run by Jon Henry put Crestwood up 14-7 with 4:47 left in the third, the Cadets put up another quick score on a fumble returned for a touchdown on the ensuing kickoff to go up 20-7.

Forest City clawed its way back in within a score on its next drive when Jaden Alamysa bust loose for a 46-yard touchdown run.

Crestwood scored with 1:32 remaining in the game to put the game pretty much out of reach. Forest City would trim the dificit to six points with 10 seconds left on a four-yard touchdown pass from Johnson to Sam Snyder, but it was too late.

Johnson finished 11 for 18 for 96 yards and two touchdowns. Alamysa was the leading rusher with 51 yards and a touchdown on five carries and Seth Brock added 35 yards on five carries of his own.

Micah Lambert led the receiving department with five catches for 63 yards and Andersen finished with 30 yards and a touchdown.

Andersen also led the way defensively with 11 total tackles, which included half a sack. Chris Jermeland added 10 tackles and Snyder had eight. Tony Thomas had one sack.

Forest City finished its season 0-9 overall and 0-7 in district play. The Indians lose 16 seniors to graduation.
