In a key Top of Iowa Conference West Division matchup Friday night in Forest City, the Forest City girls basketball team suffered a 61-53 setback against rival West Hancock.
The Indians led 45-40 after three quarters, but West Hancock's defense held them in check in the fourth as the Eagles outscored them 21-8 to go on to the victory.
Hannah Anderson poured in 16 points to lead the Indians' offense. Anderson also made three 3-pointers, had three rebounds and handed out three assists.
After Anderson's 16, Brea Dillavou scored nine and had eight rebounds and four assists, Noelle Jones scored nine points, and Erin Caylor and Callie McQuown added six apiece.
Forest City hosted Belmond-Klemme on Tuesday night before beginning the winter break.
