With the cross country postseason fast approaching, the Forest City boys and girls are building upward.

Last Thursday in a meet at WEst Fork, the Forest City boys nabbed a second-place finish in the team race with 31 points, which was behind only Newman with 18.

Grady Hovenga led the Indians with a runner-up finish in 17 minutes, 21 seconds, and Javin Pedelty and Ryan Theel each finished inside the top 10 as well. Pedelty was eighth in 17:50 and Theel took ninth in 17:54. Matt Petersen finished two spots from the top 10 as he took 12th in 18:28.

On the girls' side, Forest City finish third place with 47 points. Newman won the meet with 31 and West Fork was second with 40.

Vicky Chen led the Indians with a sixth-place showing in 21:25, Hannah Good placed 11th in 21:44 and Hannah Buffington was 13th in 21:53.
