The Forest City boys and girls bowling teams each opened their season with a pair of victories. Each topped North fayette Valley and Oelwein
The boys defeated a shorthanded North Fayette Valley team 2693-2031 while the girls beat North Fayette Valley 2337-1441
Against Oelwein, the boys won 2604-2379 and the the girls won 2027-1794
It was a great start for the year," Forest City coach Shawn Torgerson said. "The team scores this early in the season are also much higher than previous years. That is a good sign that it could be a very good year."
Jarred Thompson led the boys with 175 and 216 for 391 Mandy Anzivino led the girls with 148 and 187 for 335 against North Fayette Valley.
At Oelwein, Mike Neilsen was the high bowler with 180 and 216 games for 396. Mandy was again the high girl with 154 and 148 for a 302 series.
