The Forest City boys and girls wrapped up their regular season Friday, Feb. 2, with a meet vs. Tripoli.
The boys won the first game 916-872 to start the day with a 44 pin lead. They won the second game 940-917 to extend that lead to 67 pins overall, won the first three baker games stretching out the lead a bit, and then lost the last two, but their lead was enough to hold on for the win 2796-2732.
Conner Thompson led the boys with 170 and 226, and Eli Johnson was second high with 172 and 215. The boys finish the regular season with a win, after dropping their last two competitions and finish the year 7-2.
The girls meet started off slow for both schools with Tripoli winning the first game 720-688 taking a 32 pin lead against Forest City. The Indians won the the second game of much higher scores 848-833 to knock their deficit down to only 17 pins going into the baker games, won the first baker game 120-99 to take their first lead of the day by 4 pins, and then won all the rest of their baker games to close out the match 2272-2195.
Shayne Hoeft led the Indians with games of 172 and 201, followed by Mandy Anzivino with games of 148 and 160. The girls finished the year 6-3.
