We have just once again celebrated the birth of the Christ Child. The heavens opened and the Angels sang telling of His birth. He came as a little baby in a manger. He came without power or might, just a helpless little baby wrapped in swaddling clothes, yet even in this helpless state the Government leader tried to kill Him. There were very few who came to witness this great event. The Angels went and told of his arrival to just a few shepherds who tending their sheep.
Jesus had come for salvation and promised to all who accepted Him into their lives to be a Good Shepherd and lead any who believed in Him and followed Him to provide green pastures to feed on the bread of heaven that will more than satisfy the hunger of one’s souls. He promises to all who will become members of His flock to lead us beside still waters where we can drink freely from the waters that will quench the thirsting our souls.
He gives every man woman or child the choice of accepting or rejecting His offer to us. He also promised before He returned to His glorious Kingdom that one day He would return. When the day comes for His return He will come as Lord of lords and King of kings.
Every eye shall behold Him in all of His glory. He will come with great power and nothing on this earth or anyplace in all creation will be able to stand against Him. He will be coming for judgment.
Each person ever born will have to make an account for themselves as to what they did with the Baby born in Bethlehem. It will now be up to Him if He will accept you and I or reject us.
What we do with the Christ Child will determine what the Christ the King of Glory will do with us. My prayer for each of you is that you will accept the Christ of Christmas, confessing your sins to Him and then following the Good Shepherd throughout your life time experiencing the Father’s love, the joy of salvation brought to us through the shed blood of Christ and the power given to us by the Holy Spirit to live in the peace and hope.
It is then that we can look forward when we can live with the assurance that we spend eternity with Him in His forever Kingdom.
