New radio read water and electric meters will begin being installed in Forest city in November.
These meters will be read by radio frequency which will eliminate the need for meter readers walking to each meter in the city.
Information will be sent out to arrange a scheduled appointment to enter your house and change your water meter to a radio controlled meter. This will be a safer, more economic way of attaining the data.
With winter coming it is the time to plan for sidewalk snow removal and off street parking for your vehicles.
On street parking is prohibited during a snow event, and sidewalks need to be cleaned within 24 hours of a snow event. Avoid tickets for parking and assessment of a bill for cleaning your sidewalks.
I would like to thank our farming friends and neighbors. Mother Nature has made farming more challenging with the wet fall weather. Harvest is behind schedule. Be safe out there, and traffic slow down and be aware of slow moving farm vehicles.
The Fine Arts Center is on schedule. The building is coming together and event scheduling is already being planned for the fall of 2018. We are looking forward to the Grand Opening and the events being scheduled.
