FOREST CITY | Horses and mules could be found be at Heritage Park of North Iowa on Aug. 26 and 27. They were part of a demonstration of how farm work was done before the use of steam engines. 

Keith Kyle of Buffalo Center, a Heritage Park volunteer, organized the event.

The event included teams as well as single animals operating threshing and shelling machines.

There was also a plowing demonstration, horse-logging demonstration and other activities.

There were different breeds of draft horses, including Belgians and Percherons, at the show. 

One or two horse-drawn coaches were available for rides, as well as a horse-drawn wagon to transport people to different parts of Heritage Park.
