Milton and Linda Davis Owen will celebrate 50 years of marriage together on Tuesday, January 30th.

The couple was married on January 30, 1968 in a small ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church in Bellevue, Iowa, while Milton was home on a short leave from the United States Air Force.

They honeymooned on their trip to his first assignment at Travis AFB, Fairfield, California. Their early years found them living in Japan, Montana, Mason City, Maquoketa, Nora Springs and Osage. Milton also served for 13 months in Vietnam.

The Owens lived for 25 years in Osage, before moving to their current home north of St. Ansgar. Milton retired as Director of the Mitchell County Conservation Board after 36 years. Linda retired from Mitchell County Public Health after 12 years and enjoyed working at several other businesses in the area including Ed's Floral, The Daylight Store, Loften Veterinary Services and Breitbach Chiropractic.

They are blessed with three much loved children and six grandchildren - Angie and Troy Dodd, Nikolas and Alaina from Clear Lake; Matthew Owen and sons, Ethan and Elijah, from Lamoni; and Nathan and Heather Owen, Autumn and Jace of Osage.

A weekend get-away is planned for the family to celebrate this happy time.

The couple will also be taking their annual Florida trip.
